This story sets to help children understand that the responsibility for a puppy is for its whole lifetime. In this, the family buys the puppy Buster for Christmas and abandon him once caring became too strenuous.He would have perished but for the badger Billa who comes to save him. This is the start of a lovely friendship where they both learn how kindness given will always return. Homeless, lost and abandoned, he nearly perishes in the cold winter, but Billa the badger saves him and shows him how kindness is a circle. Together they return kindness to Mrs Joyce who ends up in a tricky situation in the woods. They learn how kindness given will always return.
